I have the pleasure of working with a well-deserving family in Prince George's County Maryland on rebuilding their home. Tragically they lost the home due to a fire and happily no one was hurt but none of the belongings and much of their house was a total loss. Fast forward almost a year and I come into the picture. The homeowner decided she wanted help rebuilding their home which included a new kitchen and 4 new bathrooms. That's a big task picking out all the final selections for not ... View Post
One Room Challenge Week 8: Master Bedroom Makeover Reveal
Well I should say pre-reveal. Bad news guys and that's because I didn't complete the room. One of the biggest factors that played into not completing the room was COVID unfortunately. Delivery times have been extended because of the surge in online orders plus reduced work capacity with some of my vendors. I'm still waiting for my order to be placed for the mirrored dressers for the sides of the bed. It's taken like 3 weeks just to set up an account which usually takes a few days ... View Post

One Room Challenge Spring 2020 Week 6: Glam Master Bedroom Makeover
Welcome to week 6 of the One Room Challenge (ORC)! Only 2 more weeks to go and I'm starting to feel a little pressure! So to say the least it's challenging to find time to work on my own home. Let's go ahead and jump into what I've been able to do... The dresser unfortunately is still in the box until I can manage to get it in the house. In the meantime, I ... View Post
One Room Challenge Spring 2020 Week 5: Black Lives Matter Support
This week the ORC set aside time to observe the Black Lives Matter Movement. I have to admit I was a little numb to the movement in it's earlier days. I didn't think it would get traction and just be another forgotten push to recognize the inequality that exists today. I was numb because I used to work in the disparities and health inequities field and didn't see change. I was numb because I worked with non-profit groups spending lots of night and weekends to support but no change. I ... View Post
One Room Challenge Week 4: Upscale Master Bedroom Refresh
Welcome back to my journey on the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge. Ok, this past week did not go as planned and therefore I didn’t have much of an update for last week. I’ve been working on a rental condo renovation and we’re almost at the end. Just a few unplanned things like dealing with appliances and countertop measurement but we’re working things out and I’ve wrapped up my last bit of ordering. Now it’s just waiting for everything to arrive and final install. I can’t wait to show ... View Post
